MATRIMONIAL LAW
Goldweber Epstein knows that no divorce is easy. Some require extraordinary negotiating skills, while others demand a full commitment to litigation. Emphasis is given to personal contact and maintaining a team approach to resolving legal issues.
In view of the high monetary and emotional cost of extended matrimonial proceedings, our attorneys explore all options for a settlement satisfactory to our clients within the context of applicable matrimonial law in New York. GE firmly believes that if settlement is possible, the trauma of divorce may be minimized and our clients and their families can move forward with their lives.
On the other hand, some cases (not always easy to predict) require resolve, determination, and the ability to litigate the matter through trial and appeal.
Our practice is devoted to handling maintenance and child support, parental rights, parenting plans, child access, child custody, c0-parenting, domestic violence, equitable distribution of marital property, declaration of separate property, allocation of benefits, pre-nuptials, post-nuptials, pension retirement monies, business, license, and education valuations, property settlement agreements, and post-divorce enforcement actions.
DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIPS
Goldweber Epstein provides knowledgeable and comprehensive advice and guidance regarding issues of same-sex couples. In New York, domestic partners are not accorded the same legal rights as those given to married couples. We can recommend certain legal actions can be taken to protect all parties with family law issues.
Our practice is devoted to handling the legal issues relating to same-sex and non-married couples, including division of joints assets, custody and estate planning, wills, trusts, and healthcare directives and living wills, marriage alternatives, and dissolution of non-marital relationships.
EMPLOYMENT
Goldweber Epstein has unique experience in employment law, including representing and reviewing employment contracts for both the employer and the employee, preparing procedural handbooks, negotiating severance agreements, and representing employees in discrimination cases. GE has also represented both individuals and companies in age, race, sex, and disability claims.
BUSINESS DISSOLUTION
Goldweber Epstein handles the break-up of professional practices and partnerships, whether by negotiated settlement or court intervention.
